Fixed Route: Run the hilly road to East Norton. On reaching the main village, cross the old A47 straight up an old road/track to a metal gate.

Cross (EXTREME CARE!) the A47 by-pass and through a second gate to the old road which leads steeply upwards to re-join Hallaton Road.

Continue along this hilly road and down into Hallaton, past the duck pond and down to the bottom of the village.

Option ‘A' (Road): Continue, and leave the village on the Cranoe Road. After about a mile, take a left turn (S.P. Slawston 3/4m). Enter Slawston village, and turn right (S.P. Welham) to the hand over just before the crest of the hill.

Option ‘B' (Field Path): In Hallaton, pass the Bewicke Arms on your left and The Cross memorial on your right, opposite The Cross turn left through a stone archway just after house No. 5. Follow the way- marked field path straight to Slawston, entering the village near the riding stables. Cross the road into Welham Road to the hand over just before the crest of the hill.
