From the start on Bewcastle Grove, head to the parkland in front of you and through a narrow gap. Go right and follow the right hand edge of the field to a path which emerges at the recreation ground on Thurcaston Road. Go left here, and follow the road to Thurcaston.

At the bottom of the hill in Thurcaston, turn right onto a well marked bridle path which runs behind Rothley Golf Course to Rothley village. Pass the ‘Blue Bell' and keep right through the village to the old A6. Cross CAREFULLY at traffic lights by the Red Lion and continue on the B5328 under the new A6 by-pass. Turn left into Platts Lane at Cossington. At the cross roads go straight across into Back Lane. Go over the railway bridge and bear right at the T junction (Humble Lane). At the T junction at the top of the hill, again turn right on the B674 (S.P. Ratcliffe). This takes you under the A46 Six Hills Road, and a left fork into Ratcliffe. Continue through the village, change over is on the Thrussington Road about 500 yds out of the village (G.R 635147).
